Since WP Engine introduced this entry-level plan, I’ve been recommending it to my clients. Before this, I usually suggested the standard (Start Up) plan, but I have to agree with them - it was too pricey for some, especially for smaller businesses or personal projects.
Now that the Lite Plan is here, there’s almost no reason to look elsewhere. It gives you the same great WP Engine quality but at a price that actually makes sense for smaller websites.
This plan isn’t listed on their main website, which is why I wrote this blog - to make it easy to share with my clients and possibly help you out too.

It’s a sweet deal, considering all the benefits you get.
The introduction of this plan makes WP Engine’s premium hosting service more competitive in the industry, bringing the price down closer to competitors like SiteGround and Cloudways. It is now much more accessible to a wider audience.
This plan is perfect for those just starting out or running smaller websites, but still want everything to run smoothly without worrying about technical stuff.

The Lite Plan comes with enough resources to host a simple website with low traffic. It’s really all you need if you’re just starting out, or don’t expect tons of visitors right off the bat. Below are the key limits, and everything else matches what you’d get with their standard StartUp Plan.
You still get all the essential WP Engine features that make managing your site easier - like free SSL for security, temporary domains if you're still setting up your site, and staging environments so you can test things without affecting your live site.
These features make a big difference when you are dealing with clients facing sites.
The WP Engine Lite Plan is a great option for small business owners who are just getting started or anyone launching a new website.
If you're running a personal blog, a portfolio site, or a small e-commerce store, this plan gives you all the benefits of WP Engine without overwhelming you with unnecessary extras or costs.
The 5,000 unique visitor limit might seem small compared to some other plans, but for a new or small site, it's actually a solid amount.
That's roughly 166 visitors per day, which is pretty decent for someone who’s just starting out. Most small businesses or personal websites don’t hit that number every day anyway, so you should be good with this plan.
If you do start seeing more traffic than that, then great!
That’s when you can think about upgrading to the StartUp Plan, which gives you more resources to handle your growing site.
The most affordable WP Engine Pricing Plans starts at USD13 per month.
