Website Speed Optimisation
Make Your Website Load In A Blink
How long do you wait for a slow website before you tap back? Honestly, probably less than you think, and your customers are no more patient than you are. We find out exactly what is slowing your site down, fix it, and show you the before and after in a PageSpeed report you can read without a developer in the room.

The Unfair Advantage
Speed Is The Cheapest Upgrade Your Website Will Ever Get
Did you know? Most slow websites are slow for three or four boring reasons, and none of them need a redesign.
Oversized images, no caching, a plugin that loads on every page when it is only needed on one, and hosting that was the cheapest option on the day the site was built. Fix those and the same website, with the same design and the same words, suddenly feels like a different site. Pages open before people have time to think about leaving, forms submit without a pause, and Google notices too.
Can you leave it slow? Yes, but every person who gave up waiting was someone who wanted to see what you offer. They won’t tell you they left. They will just open the next result, which is usually your competitor. Speed optimisation is the fix with the shortest list of things that can go wrong and the biggest difference you can actually feel.
Advantage #1
Pass Core Web Vitals, In Plain English
Core Web Vitals are Google’s three measurements of how a page feels to a real person. How quickly the main thing on the page shows up (Largest Contentful Paint). How quickly the page reacts when someone taps or clicks (Interaction to Next Paint). And whether things jump around while it loads, so the button moves just as you reach for it (Cumulative Layout Shift). Google reports all three in Search Console and uses them as part of how it ranks you.
Most speed services chase the PageSpeed score, because a big green number looks good in a screenshot. We fix the three measurements instead, because that is what your visitors feel and what Google measures on real phones, not in a lab. The score usually follows, but it is the side effect, not the goal.
We start with a free website audit, so you see what is slow and why before you spend anything. If the site only needs two things, you will hear that from us too.
Advantage #2
Smaller Images, Smarter Caching, Closer Servers
Images are the biggest files on almost every website, and most of them are uploaded straight from a phone or a designer at five times the size the page needs. ShortPixel compresses them and serves modern formats, so they look the same and weigh a fraction of what they did. Caching with WP Rocket means WordPress builds each page once and hands out the finished copy, instead of rebuilding it from scratch for every single visitor.
Then Cloudflare puts a copy of your site’s files in data centres around the world, so someone in Sydney is served from Sydney and someone in London from London. For a business with clients in several countries, that alone can be the difference between a site that feels local and a site that feels far away.
None of this changes how your site looks. Nothing is removed from the design. It is the same site, with the weight taken off.
Advantage #3
Fix The Server When The Server Is The Problem
Sometimes we run the audit and the honest answer is that the hosting is the bottleneck. Cheap shared hosting puts hundreds of websites on one server, and when one of them gets busy, yours slows down with it. No amount of plugin tidying fixes that.
In that case we tell you plainly and move the site to a cloud server on Google Cloud or AWS that we manage, the hosting all our client sites run on, with its own resources rather than a shared machine, server-side caching configured and Cloudflare’s CDN in front. If the server is fine, we leave it where it is. Moving your hosting just to hit a number is not a service, it is an upsell, and we don’t do those.
Either way, you get a before and after PageSpeed report at the end, so the improvement is something you can see, not something you have to take our word for.
Who It's For
Who This Is For
Speed work pays off for almost any website, but these are the people who usually get in touch.
Business Owners With A Slow Site
Your site looks fine, but it takes a while to open and you have quietly stopped sending people to it. You want it fixed without a redesign.
Online Stores
WooCommerce stores where a slow checkout means abandoned carts. Every second shaved off the checkout page is money that stays in the order.
Anyone Running Ads
You pay for every click. If the landing page is slow, part of that budget goes to people who left before it loaded. Faster pages make the same ad spend go further.
Sites Flagged In Search Console
Google says your Core Web Vitals need improvement, and you are not sure what that means or who fixes it. We do.
What's Included
What Speed Optimisation Includes
The same checklist on every site, in the same order, with a report at each end so you can see what changed.
Free Website Audit & Baseline Report
We measure the site as it is today: PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals and a plain list of what is slowing it down and what we would do about it.
Caching With WP Rocket
Page caching, browser caching, minified files and delayed scripts, set up and tested on every page type, including forms and checkout.
Image Compression With ShortPixel
Every existing image compressed and converted to modern formats, and new uploads handled automatically from then on.
Cloudflare CDN
Your site served from a data centre near your visitors, with Cloudflare in front of it for speed and a layer of protection.
Database & Plugin Cleanup
Leftover tables from plugins you removed years ago, old post revisions, spam comments and unused plugins and themes, cleared out.
Before & After PageSpeed Report
Same tests, same pages, side by side. Plus the settings we changed, written down, so you or anyone else can see exactly what was done.
Our Speed Optimisation Process
How We Speed Up Your Website
Fully remote and time zone friendly. Your live site keeps running the whole time.
- 01
Free Audit & Baseline
Honestly, this is the simplest step for you. Send us your link through the free website audit and we measure the site as it is today, on mobile and on desktop, on the pages that matter: the home page, a service page, the contact form and the checkout if you have one. You get back a plain-English list of what is slowing the site down, what we would do about it and one fixed quote. If the answer is that the site only needs an hour of work, that is what the quote will say. No obligation either way.
- 02
Backup & Staging Copy
Before we change a single setting, we take a full backup of the site and the database. Then we work on a staging copy wherever possible, so your live site keeps selling while we tune the copy next to it. Caching is where most do-it-yourself speed attempts break a website, usually a form or a checkout page, which is why we would rather break the staging copy than yours. Nothing goes live until it has been tested.
- 03
Optimise & Test
Caching goes on with WP Rocket. Every image is compressed with ShortPixel. The database is cleaned, unused plugins and themes are retired, and Cloudflare goes in front of the site as the CDN. If the audit showed the hosting is the bottleneck, this is where the site moves to a cloud server on Google Cloud or AWS. Then we test every page type again, on real phones, not just in a tool: forms submit, the checkout completes, the menus work and nothing jumps around while the page loads.
- 04
Report & Handover
You get a before and after PageSpeed report, the same tests on the same pages, side by side, along with a list of every setting we changed and why. We also tell you the two or three habits that keep a site fast, like resizing a photo before you upload it, so the work lasts. Most speed optimisation jobs are finished typically within one to two weeks of getting access, longer if a hosting move is part of it. If you want it kept tuned every month, that is what our hosting and maintenance plan is for.
Website Speed Optimisation Pricing
Quoted Per Site, After We Look
We look at your site before we quote it, because no two slow websites are slow for the same reason.
Every speed job is quoted per site, as one fixed price, after we have looked at the site. You will know exactly what it costs and exactly what we are going to do before anything starts. If the site only needs an hour of work, that is what you will be quoted. If the hosting needs to move, that is in the quote too, not a surprise halfway through.
