Your Idea, Turned Into Working Software

Application Development

You have an idea for an app, or a process that has outgrown spreadsheets and email. We scope the smallest version worth building, quote it as a fixed price and build it in two-week sprints, with a working demo at the end of each one. And if you don’t need a custom app, we will say so on the first call. A website and an automation often does the job.

The Unfair Advantage

Own The Software Your Business Runs On

Did you know? Most of the tools you pay for every month were built for somebody else’s business, not yours.

So you bend your process to fit the software, pay for three subscriptions to cover one job, and still do the gaps by hand. A small app built around how you actually work removes all of that. It does one thing, exactly the way you need it, and it is yours. No per-seat fees, no feature you are waiting on a vendor to ship, no “we are sunsetting this product” email.

And yet, most personal brands and small businesses never consider it, because they think custom software means a year and a six figure budget. It does not have to. We scope the smallest version worth building, quote it as a fixed price and put working software in your hands every two weeks. If you are one of them, we can help you in the process. And if you do not need an app, we will tell you on the first call.

Scope My App

Advantage #1

Have Software That Fits Your Business, Not The Other Way Round

Every off-the-shelf tool was designed for the average business. You are not the average business. So you end up with workarounds, a spreadsheet on the side and a team that quietly ignores half the features.

Can you survive on off-the-shelf tools? Yes, but every workaround costs you time, and every subscription costs you money, forever. A small app built around how you actually work does one thing exactly your way, with no per-seat fees and no feature you are waiting on a vendor to ship.

We build a small, focused first version for personal brands and small businesses who want to stop bending to their tools and start owning them.

Advantage #2

Give Your Customers An Experience Your Competitors Cannot Copy

At some point, every service business hits the same wall. You are answering the same questions by email, sending the same documents and chasing the same updates, and your customers are waiting on you to do it.

What if I tell you a client portal can do all of that while you sleep? Your customers log in, see where things stand, download what they need and book what they want. They feel looked after, and you did not touch a keyboard.

That experience is something a competitor using the same off-the-shelf tools as everyone else simply cannot offer. It becomes the reason people stay, and the reason they refer their friends.

Advantage #3

Grow Without Hiring Another Pair Of Hands

Most growing businesses solve a process problem by hiring a person to do it. That works, until the person is sick, leaves, or the volume doubles again. Software does not have those problems.

An internal tool that handles your scheduling, stock, reporting or onboarding does it the same way every time, at 2am and on public holidays, for a one-time build cost rather than a salary. Your team gets to do the work that actually needs a human.

And because we scope the smallest version worth building, you find out whether it pays for itself within weeks, not after a year of spend. Honestly, that is the whole point of starting small.

What's Included

What Every App Project Includes

SaaS product, client portal or mobile app, these six pieces are part of the work every time.

  • Scoping You Can Plan Around

A prioritised list of features and a fixed-scope first version. You know what you are getting, what it costs and roughly when it lands.

  • Screens You Approve First

Wireframes and interface design, tested as clickable prototypes so you can walk through the app before any code is written.

  • A Stack Any Developer Can Pick Up

Well-supported tools like Next.js, React, Node.js and Postgres, chosen for your use case and hosting budget, not because they are fashionable.

  • A Demo Every Two Weeks

Recorded so you can watch it in your own time zone. You always know exactly what has been built and what is next.

  • Security & Testing

Logins, user roles, data protection and testing across devices before anything reaches your users.

  • Launch & Handover

Deployment, documentation and a repository under your own account. Your product, your code, your hosting.

Our Sprint Process

How We Build It

Cylas Tee is a Certified ScrumMaster and a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner. That is not a line on a badge, it is how every project here is run. Four stages, two-week sprints, and working software you can click from the first fortnight.

  1. 01

    Discovery & Scope

The hardest part of any software project is agreeing what not to build. We start with a call in your time zone to understand who your users are, what they need to do on day one and what can honestly wait for version two. We will ask a lot of questions about your business, your customers and the tools you already pay for, because sometimes the right answer is a website and an automation rather than an app, and we would rather tell you that now. At the end of discovery you get a prioritised feature list, a fixed-scope first version and a fixed quote, and we will both know whether we are a good fit for each other.

  2. 02

    Design & Prototype

Before a single line of code is written, you will click through your app. We turn the agreed scope into wireframes, then into a clickable prototype, so you can walk through every screen the way your users will and tell us what feels wrong. We will accommodate your tweaks until the flow makes sense to you, not just to us. Alongside the screens you get a short technical plan in plain English: the tools, the hosting and roughly what they will cost you per month. Changing a screen at this stage costs an hour. Changing it after it is built costs a sprint.

  3. 03

    Build In Sprints

This is where the Scrum training earns its keep. Work runs in two-week sprints with a recorded demo at the end of each one, so you are trying real features from the first fortnight instead of reading status reports. You watch the demo when it suits you, send feedback in writing, and we reorder the backlog together before the next sprint starts. Your job at this stage is mostly to react honestly to what you see. Ours is to keep the code clean enough that the next developer, including a future you, can pick it up without a handover from us.

  4. 04

    Launch & Support

Once the first version is ready, we test it on real devices, run the security checks and take it live on hosting set up under your own accounts, or through Apple and Google review for a mobile app. You get documentation, a recorded walkthrough and a repository in your name, so there is nothing to ask us for later. Then you decide what happens next: take the code to your own team, or keep us on and we keep it secure, updated and growing, quoted monthly to fit what you need. Honestly, launch day is the simplest step of the whole process. The weeks of real users after it are where the good ideas come from.

Application Development Pricing

If you’re looking for a “cheap” or a quick one-and-done app.

We’re probably not the best fit.

And to be honest, no software worth using was ever built cheap and fast. It takes time, a clear scope and a strong relationship between client and developer to build something your users will actually keep using. The following are our estimated starting points based on similar projects in the past. The true investment can only be confirmed once we both understand the scope, so if you already have an idea in mind, contact us directly and you will get a fixed quote before any work starts.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, just ask.

Do I Need A Web App Or A Mobile App?
Start with the problem, not the platform. If your users mostly sit at a desk or work in a browser, a web app is faster and cheaper to build. If they need it on the go, with push notifications, camera, location or offline access, go mobile. Many products start as a web app and add a mobile version later on the same backend. And if the real goal is getting rid of repetitive admin, you may not need an app at all. See Automations & AI first.
Who Owns The Code?
You do. Once the project is paid, the source code, the designs and the intellectual property are yours. The repository, hosting and any third-party services are set up under accounts you control from the first sprint, so you are never locked in to us.
How Does Pricing Work?
Every project is quoted as a fixed scope and a fixed price after the discovery call. Payment is 50% deposit and 50% on launch. Longer roadmaps can run as a monthly sprint retainer instead. Starting prices are on each service page, and you have the final number before any work starts. No surprises, no hidden extras.
How Long Does An App Take To Build?
A typical web app first version takes 8–12 weeks. A mobile app takes 10–14 weeks, because Apple and Google review is part of the schedule. Both are built in two-week sprints, so you are clicking through working features from the first demo, not waiting until the end.
Can You Work With My Existing Developers?
Yes. We can run the whole project, or join your team as Scrum lead and extra development capacity. Either way the work sits in one shared backlog your team can see, and Cylas Tee stays your single point of contact.
Does Remote Delivery Work For Software Projects?
It is the only way projects here run. Clients in the United States, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Russia and Indonesia get written updates, recorded sprint demos and calls booked in their time zone. You are never waiting for an office to open.

Our Guarantees

Promises We Put In Writing

We would rather work for free than see an unhappy client. These are the guarantees every project comes with.

Our Time Is Limited

As an app build takes up a significant amount of time and attention, and Cylas Tee is personally in every sprint demo, we only take on a handful of new projects each month. That is how each of our clients gets the attention they deserve. If you are remotely interested in building your app this year, we strongly suggest you contact us today to reserve a slot.
